Combining omega-3s, vitamin D, and regular exercise may reduce biological aging far beyond the impacts of these interventions in isolation, a new study indicates.
Specifically, supplementing with omega-3s alone reduced biological age on several next-generation epigenetic clocks… x.com/i/web/status/1…

STORY OF THE WEEK
Osaka Study Delivers Breakthrough In Anti-Aging Research
A recent discovery at Osaka University in Japan has offered a glimpse into the possibility of genuinely reversing the aging process at a cellular level.
The research focuses on the intricate dance of cellular senescence, the process by which cells lose their ability to divide and contribute to tissue repair, becoming what are often termed "zombie cells." These senescent cells accumulate with age, releasing inflammatory molecules that contribute to age-related decline and disease.
What sets this Osaka University study apart is its exploration of a novel method to selectively eliminate these senescent cells, not just halting their harmful effects, but potentially rewinding the cellular clock.
While previous research has explored senolytics, drugs that target senescent cells, this study suggests a more precise and potentially more effective approach. By targeting a specific protein, researchers may be able to minimize off-target effects and maximize the elimination of harmful senescent cells.

DEEP DIVE SESSION
Why Your VO2 Max Matters More Than You Think
We’ve been hearing a A LOT about VO2 max, the unsung hero of longevity, the oxygen-guzzling gladiator of your cardiovascular system.
So let’s talk about it.
What is VO2 Max?
Well to start, some people are calling it the “most important health metric”.
VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen that your body can use during exercise. It’s a measure of your cardiovascular fitness and is often used to assess your overall health.
And what does that translate into? A higher VO2 max means that you have a more efficient cardiovascular system and can better use oxygen to fuel your muscles.
Think of it as your body’s ability to turn air into pure, unadulterated “LFG 🚀 .”
And one more thing — you don’t need to run a marathon to reap the rewards. Even brisk walking, cycling, or swimming can nudge your VO2 max in the right direction.
So how Does VO2 Max Impact Longevity? 🤔
A number of studies have shown that a higher VO2 max is associated with a longer lifespan. In one study, researchers followed over 100,000 people for 25 years and found that those with a higher VO2 max were more likely to live longer.
Another study found that people with a higher VO2 max were less likely to die from heart disease, cancer, and other chronic diseases.
If you needed some motivation to get your cardiovascular health in order, then let this be your sign - its MAX SEASON.
Ditch the remote, lace up those sneakers, and get moving. Your lungs, and your future self, will thank you.
